How Can I Lose Thirty Pounds Hassle-Free - Explained

By Scott Edwards

When you decide to change something in your life, setting goals and making a plan is vital. This applies to everything - including a weight loss regime. Today's football superstars didn't get to become multi-millionaires without years of dedication to practice, planning and targets.

Prior to commencing weight loss, take the time to think about your goals, and work out an exercise and eating programme with targets or indicators of success along the way. Even if the end result falls short of the planned criteria, it's a likely bet that you'll be much closer to success than you'd have been without them. An end goal, with mini-goals timed along the way will assist you greatly. Always specify your targets clearly.

Use the following five D's to help you get emotionally involved with the result of your efforts. Write your five D's down in a contract to yourself. You should write your definition of what losing weight will mean - for example great looks, health, fun and so on. Have a clear-cut picture of who you will be and the lifestyle you'll enjoy when the excess weight has gone.

Desire (why you're doing it). This needs to be something that stirs an emotion within you. For example personal challenge, get out from where you are, you owe it to yourself to have better health, to prove to someone you've got what it takes, to take control of your destiny.

Commitment or Dedication: Plan your time each week so you know exactly when you're dedicated to exercising. Have it written on a calendar planner that you can cross off once you've completed it.

Let the people in your life know when that is, so they won't expect you to do other things at that time (just as they don't when you go to your job). Friends won't expect you to get involved in different activities when your diary shows an exercise period if you've been consistently sticking to your routine. It means when you're relaxing you won't be feeling guilty that you're not working-out, and when you're exercising you won't be feeling you're missing out on some other activity.

A contract illustrates your Determination to see this thing through. Having a written document about the positive direction of your life makes it harder to bottle out of it. Having a plan and targets to work towards gives you a Discipline that helps you to power through the tough times that will occasionally strike you.

Keep your contract close by, and take time to look at it regularly. Write down your goals in a specific and realistic manner, then work diligently and consistently to achieve them. This has been proven by the world's most successful people. - 30241
